The segregation dataset found at this site was created by David Cutler, Edward Glaeser, and Jacob Vigdor.

The data come from decadal Census data spanning the years 1890 to 2000. These data have been used in Cutler and Glaeser's Are Ghettos Good or Bad? (1997: Quarterly Journal of Economics 112:827-872) and Cutler, Glaeser and Vigdor's The Rise and Decline of the American Ghetto (1999: Journal of Political Economy 107:455-506).
