This project will bring together research teams from a range of universities who are working on the measurement of risks in the global food supply chain and the consequences of potential policy actions that could reduce these risks. This research will consider both supply interruptions as well as quality degradation in food supplies. It will adopt a global perspective, but will focus in particular on issues that may affect the United States. The pandemic-related disruptions in the domestic supply chains for poultry and other meats in the U.S. in the last two months have drawn new attention to supply chain issues, and they make this a particularly timely study.
