The project seeks to create incentives for leading academic researchers to focus on policy-relevant topics within environmental and energy economics (EEE) and communicate their findings in more immediately impactful ways. It will do this by establishing a regular forum where researchers can communicate directly with the professional staffs at government agencies and NGOs focused on energy and environmental policy, and it will promote lasting impact through an annual publication featuring EEE research directly related to current and ongoing policy debates. This initiative will spur a significant body of new EEE research in areas and ways that are increasingly needed because of growing concern about environmental and energy issues, and because of the increasing incidence of policymaking with important economic consequences in these areas.
