The Center for Policy Research on Ageing (CEPRA) at Università della Svizzera Italiana (USI) and the National Bureau of Economic Research (NBER) invite papers for a workshop on “Aging and Health” that will be held in Lugano, Switzerland, on June 14–16, 2025. The workshop will showcase recent research on the economics of aging, health, and health care and facilitate networking of both junior and senior scientists in this research field.
Papers for the meeting will be selected by a committee comprised of Fabrizio Mazzonna (Università della Svizzera Italiana and CEPRA), Kathleen McGarry (UCLA and NBER), Kosali Simon (Indiana University and NBER), and Jonathan Skinner (Dartmouth and NBER). The organizers welcome submissions of both empirical and theoretical research and encourage submissions by scholars who are early in their careers, who are not CEPRA or NBER affiliates, and who are from groups that are underrepresented in the economics profession. Papers that have been accepted for publication by June 2025 are not eligible for presentation.
To be considered for inclusion on the program, upload papers or detailed abstracts, in PDF format, by 11:59pm (EST, US) January 7th, 2025.
Authors of accepted papers will be notified by early February 2025. CEPRA will cover the cost of local accommodations and economy-class advance-purchase airfare for one author per paper; other authors are welcome to attend at their own expense. To provide a conducive environment for the exchange of ideas, the workshop is limited to a small number of presenters and discussants and participants are expected to stay for both days of the meeting.
