Victor Fuchs is the Henry J. Kaiser, Jr., Professor of Economics and of Health Research and Policy, emeritus, at Stanford University.  A pioneer in the field of health economics, he has been an NBER researcher since the 1960s and served as Vice President for research early in his career.  He played a critical role in launching the NBER's research efforts related to health care and health economics.
